Design and outdoor application guide for weather resistance of die cut stickers
2024/01/31
Die-cut stickers, with their customizable shapes, serve as important media for brand identity, product decoration, and promotional activities. Whether applied to laptops, vehicles, or outdoor facilities, sticker weather resistance directly impacts the continuous display effect of brand image.
Outdoor-grade die-cut stickers typically use PVC or vinyl materials, 0.08-0.15mm thick. Premium vinyl stickers offer UV resistance, maintaining color stability for 3-5 years in outdoor environments. Surface lamination options include gloss film (enhancing waterproofing) and matte film (anti-glare), determined by visual effect requirements.
Permanent acrylic adhesives suit smooth surfaces like glass, metal, and plastic, offering high initial tack and stable holding power; removable adhesives are ideal for temporary applications, leaving no residue upon removal. For curved or rough surfaces, flexible soft materials and strong adhesive formulations are required.
Design files should include 3mm bleed, with line widths no less than 0.5mm to ensure die-cutting accuracy. UV inkjet printing achieves full CMYK color output, with white ink undercoating technology enabling vibrant colors on transparent or dark materials. Small-batch sampling is recommended before large-scale production.
